This really nice HO gauge loco by Piko is 51070 a DR E63 electric locomotive in red livery, it has running number E63 08. DR series E 63 (from 1968: series 163) was a series of electric shunting locomotives from Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG). Reichsbahn initially ordered four machines from AEG and three from Krauss-Maffei / BBC. This resulted in two types of vehicles with the same dimensions, which were also very different from the outside. Both used a slightly shortened and slightly modified E 60 chassis with three rod-coupled axles and a jackshaft with inclined rod drive of the Winterthur type without a running axle, exactly as the SBB Ee 3/3.

The differences between the two locomotive deliveries came from the differences in the traction motors, the drive of the cam switch and other electrical equipment. As a result, the body structure of the locomotives was designed somewhat differently. E 63 01 to 04 and 08. AEG delivered four machines in 1935 using E 18 engines. The transmission was designed for lower speeds and higher tractive forces.

The structure consisted of a long, flat and relatively low front porch, the driver's cab over the two rear axles and a short, flat and equally low rear porch. Two locomotives were stationed in Stuttgart and two in Munich.

Further orders were planned in connection with the electrification of the Nuremberg-Leipzig-Berlin route, but due to the start of the war only E 63 08 was delivered. This marked the end of the procurement of electric shunting locomotives in Germany in 1940 to this day. The loco here is of the AEG type.

E 63 05 to 07. In 1935, the Krauss-Maffei/BBC consortium delivered three machines using E 16 1 engines. Here too, the transmission was designed for lower speeds and higher tractive forces.

The structure consisted of a long, sloping and relatively high front porch, the driver's cab over the two rear axles and a short, sloping and equally high rear porch. The three locomotives were stationed in Munich. The loco is in good condition as you can see in the pictures, it is tested and runs with working lights. A complete external visual inspection has shown the overall condition is very good. The box is in good if slightly shelf worn condition. Overall this is a really nice scale locomotive and would look fantastic on a layout.

Do please have a look at my other listings, I typically have various HO and OO locos on offer as well as an extensive range of imported N gauge locos and other items. Note: I do recommend all locos are cleaned & serviced, as they have some age to them even if the quality looks at the highest level fairly standard advice for all locos!
