Märklin #5516, Gauge 1, G Scale, Electric Locomotive E91 DC & Digital with Sound
This is an amazing German DRG Electric Locomotive from Marklin. It is completely made out of metal and makes for a beautiful display piece or amazing addition to your Gauge 1 / G Scale model train layout.
The train is in good condition. I've tested it in DC power mode and it runs well in both directions. I don't have a Marklin digital system so I haven't been able to test the sound and other digital functions. This locomotive is in good condition.Please check the detailed pictures as they are part of the description. Comes complete with a beautiful wooden display stand with its own train tracks, unopened accessory packets (detail parts and train engineer figure), original Marklin paperwork, and original Marklin box. Works with other G Scale track brands like LGB, Bachmann, and Aristocraft. Later they became the class E 91.
From 1925 on 20 units of the EG5 (E9101 - 20) were delivered for the Bavarian network, and 14 locomotives for Silesia with about the same construction were delivered as EG 581 - 594 (E9181- 94). While the South German locomotives had walkovers at the ends of the unit, the Prussian versions were delivered with engineers cabs with two-window engineers cabs closed at the ends. Its maximum speed was low to be sure, but its high degree of adhesion weight gave it enormous tractive effort. Over the course of its working life the paint scheme of this locomotive class as well as many technical details were changed several times.
For example, on the German Federal Railroad they were painted green. This Marklin 5517 G Scale E91 Electric Locomotive features 6 axles powered by means of 2 motors and side rods, and 4 traction tires. The Doors can be opened. The diaphragms made of real leather. Also featured is a built-in digital high efficiency propulsion motor for operation with DC power, AC power, or Märklin Delta/Digital, and adjustable maximum speed and acceleration / braking delay.
The pantographs can be raised and lowered in digital operation with the 6021 Control Unit. Built-in sound effects circuit for digital operation, with a locomotive whistle that can be turned on and off are included as well.
Sound effects of the locomotive in operation can be turned on and off with the switch on the underside of the locomotive. The direction dependent triple headlights can be turned on and off in digital operation. They are on constantly in operation with DC power, AC power or with Märklin Delta.
Their brightness depends on the amount of voltage present in the track. A figure of a locomotive engineer as well.
