HO gauge Brass Electric E103-M Little Joe Alco

The Little Joe encapsulates Cold War history perfectly - just after the Second World War the Russian railways turned to America for help in constructing these locomotives which were built by General Electric at Erie in the 1950s. The locomotives had twelve axles, eight of them powered, in a 2-D+D-2 arrangement and was designed to be feed by the high power electric 3300 volt system. Few American lines ran at that power. Although the Russians borrowed the design and later built their own version our Little Joes GE were stuck with them.

Our model is an Alco Brass E-103M HO Scale BRASS CMSP&P "Little Joe" Electric Locomotive. Model features brass construction, metal wheels and axles, pantographs, couplers, metal handrails, motor. Runs ok - not the fastest nor the quietest. Maybe needs that 3300v to make it run stronger!

This a vibrant gold finish, This item has scratches and spots of tarnish visible throughout the body as is common with all items of brass this age. The original box is included.
