Lionel 402E Mojave Electric Loco 2 Motors Standard Gauge X1813
17 long enameled metal dual-motor NYC type electric loco, made mid to late 1920s, is original Mojave with mostly brass trim, nickel journal-springs and diecast headlights, cast iron pilots. It looks mostly original/complete, has light dirt on top surfaces, light edge wear, frame has a bit more wear, otherwise clean and very nice looking. Wheels are vintage Lionel, not repro, black spokes and nickel rims, so may have been replaced in the past, they sit OK, a bit tight on track, but may have minor fatigue. It has been rewired in the past and 2-position reverser was replaced with 3-position E-unit and rewired, switch on top.

I was able to get motors to run 1-way upside-down on bench if I gave an assist to start rolling, it did not run on track. Loco made for top of the line sets that pulled larger 418, 419 type passenger cars and 200-series freights. It is not the earliest as the headlights are cast and couplers are regular latch. Massive loco weighs almost 10 lbs. (new-old-stock), are graded and represented as vintage collectibles.

Operational ability and characteristics or completeness of vintage motors, mechanisms, wiring, bulbs etc are not guaranteed. We do not guarantee coupler operation. We try to note any obvious missing parts, defects or restorations in the description. Results are from simple bench-testing to help determine if mechanism is intact. Digital photography may distort image.
